Naturally I have dry skin and my lips are no exception. I carry a lot of different chapsticks and keep them in hand everywhere. My collection included wonderfully moisturizing lipsticks of high-end beauty lines that were not cheap. I rarely used lipstick because of my dry skin to shake me in the hydrating lipsticks with dye instead. Then, about four months ago, I noticed that my lips were becoming more and more dry. They'd start to shake and break and become very red. I threw it out to not drink enough water or change time. They'd get better, then they'd get worse, and then they'd get better slowly. I probably had three days out of the month when my lips were big, and the rest were days fighting the dry lips that were peeling and falling. One day I woke up and noticed that my lips seemed worse. It was as if from night to morning they started to get raw, red and a little swollen. I keep thinking this has to be a kind of severe blow. For days I would fight with my lips, slapping with the stick to try to calm down. Instead, my lips became even more crunchy, crispy and bleeding, and they were peeled in leaves. It seemed like I had a horrible sunburn on my lips. He came to the point where my whole mouth had a red ring, caressed around it, and my lips were swollen, crude, burned and lit terribly. It was at that time that I started to consider that I was having some kind of allergic reaction. What, I had no idea. I started looking for all my beauty products. There was no change in anything. Not soaps, detergents, makeup, skin care, diet, nothing. What was causing this? Eventually my lips got so bad that I had no choice but to run to Urgent Care. They were in a horrible state and I was suffering a lot. I couldn't open my mouth and they were swollen and bleeding. The skin around my mouth was horribly cracked. They put me immediately in Prednisone. Within an hour of taking my lips seemed 80 percent better. Now to what was causing this allergic reaction. More research I found that it is very common to develop an allergy to beeswax, especially if you are a faithful user of chapsticks. Your skin may eventually be sensitized for bees wax, and with the time consistent use to develop an allergy. This is what seemed to be happening here. I was constantly slapping on chapstick 24/7. I'd even put it out of my mouth to keep it moist. This explained why my mouth was getting worse. Here he was slapping on chapstick trying to heal the wound and instead he was creating it.
